Help a starting newbie

Hi guys, I want to start in the pc modding but I would need help. What is the easyest thing to do (except the color) for modding a PC. I have a dremel tool but I really want to have a good looking PC. I don't know where to start. Any ideas and tips for a total beginner. Tx Alot.

Welcome Igloo!

Which case do you have? I mean is it steel/aluminium, a full tower?

If you can, upload a pic of your box for starters.

The best starting point is to take a look around some case mod galleries and decide what you like.

Have a look at some of Weldzilla's threads here at AOA, you can pick up some good tips there.

There are some easy things you can do. You could cut out the waffles or perferations that pass for fan grills and instal real fan grills on.

Best way to do this is to cut inbetween the wafles or perferations with a dremel then use a small half round file to clean it up.

Or you could replace the LEDs with Ultra bright blue LEDs.

Or there are LED feet for you PC.

You are ultimatly want to cut out a window and paint the case and put fans and custom grill on the front or side of the case.

Lights window makes it insta cool. Not awsoem but infinitly above staock. When you but a cold cathode if that your thing the get a good one the cheap ones often look whiteish. (for the blue) if you have money and a spare drive bay then id get CM Musketeer analog readout cuz they look really cool unless you have 100 then a LCD is cool but i'v no exp with them.

Totally agree, a window is your best bet! get the dremel out and go mad, like others said get some perspex and make a window, alternativly buy a window kit. Oh yeah, buy your cold cathods from Ebuyer, their dead cheap but like the doggs!
