No more dust bunnies for me!

Makes a great muffler for the fan as well. I now run this fan on high (12v)
and the others on low (7v). The case temp has dropped from 81F to 79F with ambient at 74F.

Cool, Clean and Quiet!

Not the most attractive mod I've ever done, but I like it!

Care to give us some more info or do a small review? Maybe we can get it up on the front page.

Robbie,

The filter is available at most auto parts stores. Got mine at AutoZone. It's a "4 inch replacement filter for 1 and 2 Bbl. Carbs." $6. I cut a circle from a sheet of thin aluminum 3.75" in dia. to cover the outward facing part of the filter and covered it with carbon fiber vinyl to match the front of my case, then sandwiched the filter and circle between a fanguard and the fan/window. There is an O-ring between the fan and window to isolate vibration.

Though I have no way to measure flow, It SEEMS to flow as well or better than with just the fanguard.

I have to be out of town for a week or so, but when I get back I'd be happy to do a small "how-to" on it. I took some pix along the way thinking someone might be interested.

How should we proceed? I'll check back when I get home.

Thanks!

That rocks, I think I may stop by the local parts store and see if I can find one for a 120mm fan (aka. the dust pump)

If you want to know more about how Mojo1340 put this nice little mod together, you can! Mojo1340 has put together a nice little article telling us how the mod was done.

Read the article here!

awsome case!!! good job! ive allways wanted a case like that, but money is scarce for some people. some day. anyway, thats an awsome mod, but i think what i would do is try to put it inside, because the big thing sticknig out the side is a little unsitely. or you could take the fan and try to build the filter into it. like by putting the little mini filter on the other side of it so that the air is still fitered, but then you still see the light from the fan. unless the light shows though the white part of the filter, then leave it because that would look AWSOME!! if u could be so kind id like to see a darkness pic of it. again, awsome case!!
