Linux Mod

Im about to embark on making up a linux system (NetBSD to be exact). And I was thinking why not go the whole hog. Deck the case out fully linux too. So would anyone here happen to have a picture that says:

Powered
By Linux

^in that style^ or:

Built On
Linux

Or:

Powered By Linux
Fueled By Uranium

^unlikely but anyway^

Or the penguin in black and white, I cant find any pictures on google. I did find a pretty good "Linus Inside" one, the picture was the same style as a "Intel Inside" logo.

Or something similar? If not i'll just make one myself.

Any thoughts?

You can get a linux tux window applique from kustompcs.co.uk it's £8 from the UK, don't know if they deliver to australia though. If not, Paypal the money to another english member (PM them first with your house address and details and tell them i sent you). Send a few quid extra for the delivery. I have a kill bill logo which has the linux penguin in it but it's yellow and black. I've just found a good one at http://galeb.etf.bg.ac.yu/~fd030490d...orn-2-frag.jpg and a monochrome one at http://www.catherders.com/Images/Pen...tux-5-bw-B.gif snd another monochrome one at http://www.catherders.com/Images/Pen...-outline-B.gif

That born to frag pic is now by desktop background. Im looking for a picture I cant find and cut into a stencil with "Powered By Linux". But now "powered by Linux" is going on the top of the case, and the linux penguin is going on the side. As a stencil not a applique. But that penguin will do nicely, I can print it and make it into a stencil. Thanks!

Did you have any luck finding one that says "Powered By Linux"?

That should give you time to cultivate your hatred of Linux as a desktop!!

*skool h8r looks suspicious*
Bitternes meaning 'glug glug'. Have you been drinking? I like the idea of a linux mod, i was originally thinking of using XP but making my case mod a linux stylee mod. Then i thought 'nah, bugger it, i'll go red'.

Just keep in mind when stenciling, if you are doing it in pencil then don't press down too hard as it can sometimes bring the paint off it it hasn't been sprayed right. If you plan to shade or want the 'blurry' effect you get from looking at some UV neon lights, then get a piece of cotton wool and drag it down the line in a wobbly line. Then do it another 2 times in the same way and you'll got a nice blurred effect. Don't venture too far from the original line otherwise it won't look that good. As i'm doing GCSE Design Graphics at school, maybe i could draw up a few ideas for you and send them to you. Everything fits in place: I like the cool side of computers, i like graphics, i can spot a good case mod (like a lot of people).

My desgin > http://www.dvd-game.servehttp.com/li...case%20mod.jpg

Although where the penguin is I may replace it with the "Linux Inside" picture im unsure yet. Sorry for my dodgy pic, it was made in paint, because I dont have photoshop, I hope this gives you a better idea of what I aim to do.

Aidan: What is a GNU? I know what a GUI is but not a GNU, BTW: did you get a chance to look at my KoTOR2 review yet?

I like what you did ther Kaitain.

GNU standing for "GNU's Not Unix", which is a free software developed to be compatable with Unix, and for it to be non-proprietary, this being so, anyone can download, modify, and distribute it. The only thing you shouldn't do is limit it[distibution]

its not unix

its a type of software that is non-proprietary, you can copy it willy nilly, modify, reverse engineer, do what ever to it. Linux for example relies almost completely on GNU software

Cool, My Radiation applque arrived today along with my PCI exhaust fan, my 2 UV red(looks orange though) fans and my red fan filter. I've still got to apply the applique and i'm thinking of getting some red cathodes (or LEDs because they don't get that hot) because my case is quite dark now that i've removed the blue LED fan. I've been thinking of names for my mod, flames of hell, Red hot chilli peppers, Etna, etc. Have you got a name for your linux mod yet or aren't you bothering with one? If you are thinking, think what your theme or colours are and then think of things that would suit it.
