| Mr. Starfleet, I dont think any Klingon would "love" that case. Perhaps respect it. Perhaps consider it honourable.

| okay, a payday is coming up for me and i've been thinking of a sweet addition the the Klingon Kase. a foldaway lCD screen Inspiration came from this tutorial http://casemodgod.com/Howto-story--35.html Mind you with my two sets of hard drive fans, and cd burner and my dvd burner i don't have space in my case, soooo that means modding the physical shell. I was gonna cut a slot in the top section, where the bevel/bezel (Spelling?) goes up, and cut a space in the top shell of the case above the CD burner to allow the Screen to go in. then i'll build a little hood thing to put on the top to hide the screen when not inuse. only thing is i have no idea where to get a screen for it that i can interface with my video card. i've got an ati radeon 7000. other new mods i'll do to it is, get some fan grills for my led fans, and get some split loom or whatever it is to clean up my power cables, get some switches to wire my fans to so i don't have to unplug them when i don't want the noise. and mod the fans themselves so i can turn on/off the lights when i have the fans on or off. like in this tutorial. http://casemodgod.com/Howto-story--52.html and since i've got extra leds, i'm also gonna mod my mouse. http://casemodgod.com/Howto-story--32.html lol, i spent most of my christmas break away from my tower at my mom's looking at new case mod ideas. so the only thing that will cost me alot of money is the screen. I've got wire and LEDs left from my hub for the mouse, i just need a single switch for the fans, and the wire loom. and the parts for the screen assembly. |

| okay, i've gone and cut out the old crappy built-in fan grills on my case, i'll take pics of those tomorrow, nothing special about those. But for the special bit, and the section i'll need your guys's assistance, *Drum roll* the mouse mod. i've gone and cut two windows in my mouse, and used a peice of acryllic for the window, it's really thick, and is somewhat darkish. still looks good though. i'll post pics tomorrow cuz they're on my digicam and i'm too tired to upload them. Some tips for those who want to mod their mice: 1. Use the thinest bloody acryllic possible. 2. Don't cut the window until you have the plexiglass/acrylic in place. (I did the hole first.) 3. WEAR GOGGLES! i thought wearing my glasses would be sufficent. gah. damn little particles of crap. and if you do get it near your eyes gently use some paper towel, and brush it away, with your eyes lightly closed. i'm gonna sand the cuts into the plastic, and use a lighter to melt it slightly to get a better finish. (Learned that somewhere) then i'm gonna use some red paint, and do the edges of the window with it. (The cut area.) and the difficult bit. The wiring. You see, a mouse with windows is nice if you have light in it already. i didn't/don't. it was a standard Aopen ps2 scroll wheel mouse, with a ball. not an optical glowy mouse. so i'm gonna wire in a pair of leds leftover from the network hub mod. if you haven't seen it already then go check it out. Using the chart from http://www.hardwarebook.net/connecto.../ps2mouse.html and the tutorial from http://casemodgod.com/Howto-story--32.html i am able to figure it out somewhat. I just need to figure out which colours are what wire, and tap into the proper ones for the leds. I logically would use the 4 VCC --> Power , +5 VDC for the positive end but i'm not sure which wire to use for the negative. please help me ![]() |

| Great mod! I like how you didn't smooth out the cuts from the plasma cutter. I think the "rough" look has an antiquish look to it. The colors look great too with the red cathodes and fan. Great job. If you have the patience to paint the power supply and drives you can use a large permanent black marker and do a few coats. That will make them match the chassi. Its and idea I will try for my mod.

| Okay, i promised pictures, and pictures are what you're gonna get. when i figure out which cables to tap, i'll post more pics. Edit: Descriptions of the pics The top two are the dual monitorage for the Klingon Kase (B'rel BOP on the top of the one )Middle two, the cutting of the sides of the mouse Bottom one is a peice of acrylic/plexiglass waiting for his "brother" to join him on the cookie sheet to be warmed up to be bent to match the curve of the mouse. |

| Your mod is looking great. Modding the mouse is a great idea too. Quote:
You may want to go and buy some newer IDE cables that are compact into a tube cable.

| MATE, wouldn't use split loom on IDEs or anything when there is a better and cheaper alternative. VANTEC make a cable sleeving kit that is cheap and reasonably easy to use. Example here http://www.coolpc.com.au/catalog/pro...roducts_id=795 I have only used 1 kit in my machine and it looks great. Might take a full day but it's worth it when you have a window in your case. I sleeved my PSU,IDEs and a heap more cables for LEDs. The only thing is they do not supply 6 and 9mm heatshrink,They do provide other sizes, So you need to buy 6 and 9 mm to do a great job or use electrial tape the same colour as the sleeving. Would post pics but sold my ditital camera a while ago.
