What would be the easyiest way to get my components black or atleast case and monitor for starter's. Id prefer not to pull everything and have hardware issue's........ It's happened before one reason why i don't like adding one piece of hardware to the system at once(easier to buy and install all at once and get it any problems over and done with).

there is no safe way u can really paint a case w\ out pulling everything and the best way to possible paint a case is w\ a air powered spray gun its more expensive especially the paint its harder to use u have to mix it but the paint and gloss is beautiful

Is there any normally applied paint that can be used?(Just paint you paint on with a brush). I already know just normal wall paint is no good but wondering if there's an alternate that can be used with the same method. I just find the idea of using paintbrushes much easier and safer. EDIT: Thinking of spraying but will test on old case my mate has of mine to see how it go's.

Well i may get some spray paint tomorrow and do one of my mate's old cases up and see how that turns out. What other's things might i need? Black Spray Paint(Automotive). Sand Paper(Any specific kind?). Primer? not even sure what it is but i heard it mentioned somewhere. If we do the old case up and we don't completely bodge it i'll post a pic ![]()

you need 'grey primer' as a base coat, probly 2 coats of that. then you need the colour you want, if its black i'd recommend 'matt black' and to get a good even coat you want to put on 2 or 3 coats. then get some 'clear varnish' and give the whole thing a couple of coats in that to seal it and give it a shine. you can just put one coat of each on, but the more coats of each and time spent on it will give a better result. remember: primer 1st colour 2nd varnish 3rd

u should probally do a clear coat before the varnish it will make it have a lot more gloss to it and it will protect the paint from using to much varnish cause if u put to thick of a coat it will soften the paint and primer and it will never dry it would be wasting alot of money ive done it its not worth it

![]() There's a new spray paint from Krylon called fusion that I used with excellent results.Best of all it has an adjustable fan nozzle and dries in about 20 minutes.Check it out at any good hardware store TODAY!! I would shy away from using "varnish"? on any metal or plastic.Very thin coats (2) of a clear enamel or a laquer based product will work best for your application.Save the varnish for unpainted wood for a rich glossy finish.Varnish really brings out the grain in the wood. One rattle can of fusion will be more than enough for about $5.00 U.S. ![]()
