cold cathode -> crash?

Helo,

I'm not sure it this is good thread for such a question but I try xD

So I have like you can see in my sig such a rig and it's indeed always stable.
Hmmm maybe it was if no tiny issue. I have 2 UV cold cathodes connected to single converter. So when I has cathodes on (hardly ever) sometimes computer crashes: blue screen and reboot.

How can I avoid that? I mean using cathodes and get no crashed?

btw. cathodes are by Revoltec (sux?)

sounds like the possibly cheap inverter is causing power fluctuations to other components, find yourself an AT power supply of about 150w and wire the cathodes to it.

I had the same problem once. Sometimes the computer would crash when I had my blue cathodes on. It took me forever to figure out that was the problem.

try and keep them on their own cable, especially not on the same cable as hard disk or graphics card, also keep graphics cards on separate cable to the hard disk if you have enough.

Depending on how much power the inverter needs, you might just be able to power 'em off a standard 12V wall wart rather than a seperate ATX PSU.

I took out the blue one and only left the black one in. I also found that plugging in a cathode before the hard drive (using the pass-thru molex connector) it would cause the HD to stop responding.
