http://www.coolerguys.com/fanfilters.html

They're just lightweight material that allows air to flow through and catches the dust. A slight performance drop but it keeps the dust out. In my opinion they reduce the longitivity of your fan's motor by causing it to work harder. I came to this opinion by purchasing 4 brand new fans, stuck filters on 2 of them and 2 without. The fans with the filters were loud and noisy after a month and a half whereas the filterless were quite.

Robbie's brother/cousin...i forget who... has the same case and i got the idea from him.
I first thought i could just go to the my local hardware store and buy a hole saw that i could just attach to my cordless drill but i talked to one of the sales people and he suggested that i not use a hole saw because it tear up the acrylic window. so i bought a dremmel! man did it work nice. k, enough with the talk. heres the pics of the final job...i thought about taking pics of the process but i was distracted by going to my High School semi final B-Ball game.
I was wondering, what kind of power supply you got there?

It looks like an older style 500+ watt psu. Just for those of you who are interested in the SilverstoneTek TJ06 (tenjim 06) make sure your power supply has a 120mm fan mounted on the bottom of your psu. That's how the case was designed to keep the hd's cool. However, if you dont have a bottom psu fan, you can easily add fans to the plexiglass side of the case or de-rivet the drive cage and turn it up on its side, re-revit it and use regular fans. Whatever do you, always actively cool your harddrives no matter what. If you dont actively cool them, then I wish them dead!

Thumbs up Nice work

I thought it looked like one. A man who knows Quality! I also like how you mounted your motherboard upside down, so that the processor is located in the coolest part of the case; the bottom. Good thinking. Very inovative.

That's the case design. There is a custom plastic half-tube used to direct a fresh supply of air directly to your cpu(s). It's cool cause it's designed for either 1 or 2 cpu's.

Cutting a "blow hole" into your case is simple. Alot of people use a hammer and nail to make an indentation where the 4 holes will go for the screws. My suggestion is to first tape up the top of your case with masking tape. Next, line up the fan on the top of your case, measure it so you know its aligned perfectly. After that, trace your fan's footprint and if possible mark the holes for the screws, You can get a little drop of ink and drop it down each hole to make a mark, or drop some pencil lead shaved from the pencil or whatever just to mark it. then after you mark it, put some support on the bottom side of the metal, and hit a nail dead center in each of the 4 holes so that your drill bit doesnt travel all over the top of your case. then drill 4 holes. next put 4 screws in the top and attach them diagonally with rubber bands. this will provide dead center for your arbor hole. then after you drill that out, you can attach a string measure 40mm and mark the string, then using it like a compass or just use a compass, make your hole mark and start cutting with a dremel, or just use a hole saw... the proper tools produce the best results. i'd recommend NOT using any kind of tinsnips. if you're gonna cut it with cutters of any sort, use nibblers i drew you a picture to help ya out! lol
