A quick look at the .pdf's for this case leads me to suggest... But first, where will these Servers be located?

If they are to be in a "normal workplace" environment, this will add a lot of expense and case cutting to the task. People will not put up with the noise generated by Delta 38's. Unless they are nerds with a yen for high performance, they will NOT "understand" the need for a LOUD box. Office staff might even quit if they are expected to live with 60 dba boxes!

We excuse the noise as best we can. They won't.

If these servers are to be situated within 20 ft of secretaries and people that must yack on the phone all day, please post that that is the case. Thanks.

I don't want to cogitate the fannage twice.

I just got this case from Jinco. Not exactly as good as I had hoped..

So I got a crappy case... well, the least I could do was cut it up, right?

I don't have a digital camera anymore, so you will have to wiat for pics, but what I did was pretty cool. I removed the two 80mm fans in the back, and used that space, allong with some near it to mount a Macintosh 6500/250. (Yes, there are two computers in there.)

All totaled, I cannibalized 4 macs to do this. I used the power supply, wiring loom, display board, and IR/vol/power LED assemby from a Quadra 630. The SCSI CD (8x), and 120mm PSU fan came from an 8100/80 AV, The HDD was from a 6100 (I tried to use an IDE hard drive, but either the drive was bad, or I screwed up wiring it, so I went back to the SCSI bus). Finnaly, the logicboard came from a 6500 (chosen not for it's speed, but for the fact that it had two PCI slots, and a CSII ethernet card. The 128meg of ram that was in it was a bit of a determining factor as well.)

I will post pics as soon as I get around to buying a digital camera. (Looks really professional.)

The macs floppy, cd, and the IR/Volume control/Power LED assembly are under the door with a 120mm fan. not really pretty right now, as I have not had time to make a filler pannel. I will be making that out of the top pannel of the Quadra 630.

see thread "MAC and PC stuffed into one case" for more info. and pics.
