The mod is technically good, but one hell of a way to ruin a laptop...

The simplicity of it is astounding.

But the end effect is wicked awesome.

i love that mod. i've been wanting to do something like that to my Inspiron but no ideas come for me. I've got a sister who has a tower pc, and an undead thirst for hallowe'en so when i go down there, i'll con her into letting me mod... muahahahaha

Did you notice the drawing they are having to give away this laptop? I love the mod, as i love all things dark and creepy. I entered the drawing for the hell of it, i could always use a laptop for fun and lan parties.

Hmm. I'm a little more skeptical. Clay is heavy stuff, not sure what that would do to the lid.
Plus to me it just looks like someone did a poo on the lid. Immature view perhaps, but it does look like that.
Generally I'm not convinced clay is the right thing to use on electrical equipment....
It looks ok. 10/10 for effort, 4.5/10 for result.

Heh, bearing in mind this is a laptop... it's been made less portable, and is probably more likely to break.

Mods are all about enhancing looks or cooling etc, not about making things heavier and less suitable for their purpose.

The thing is heavy as hell already, whats another pound or two? I mainly like the addition of the little skulls, the clay i could live without.....i would rather have it look like tread plate steel with the skulls on it.....just my opinion though.

Bear in mind the laptop was a freebie. They've done this mod for promotional purposes. I wouldn't put a lump of clay on my own laptp, either!

Kinda reminds me of that Mashie MOD with the asteroid case. I like it. A MOD is a MOD. Sometimes you have to suffer a little portability for styly.

Cool

It also has a very high wow factor to it.Think of the reaction you would get whipping that out on a busy morning in Starbucks and checking your email,

I think he could have used something lighter than clay.
maybe making a mould of the clay and casting it with plastic or acrylic.
I do love the skulls though, very cool.
I'm definitely going to learn how to add my own custome leds....
