Stacker 830

So yeah...my crossfire rig is now housed in a stacker 830. And i gotta say...my...what the case this thing is!

It cost a pretty penny, but for the very first time ever, i feel like i got my money's worth when buying a case.

But i have an issue...the 3x120mm rad I have for that rig does not fit! I need one more slot up front, or to cut a hole in the bottom for it! Actually, there's a hole already in the bottom, covered by a screen, that will fit a 2x120mm rad, i think...

Anyway, it seems as though i have another project....

I saw some reviews for it a while back, I always wanted the original Stacker, and this new one looks to be even better!

Can we see a pic of it with all your computing goodness in there?

That is waht has stopped me from getting a 3x120 rad. Where to put it.

Camera batteries are currently charging...my son's first "christmas concert" is tonight, so it will have to wait until tomorrow, but I'll toss some up. Might give me the time to get the second rad and pump and get the cards back under water. CPU is currently watercooled w/ Blakc Ice Pro, and a universal TDX.

Once this is done, I'll be starting into the G80/DX10 rig...not too much of a rush on that tho, as there is really no need for the power yet, nor are there any DX10 games.

Yes true. But to stare at it's pure awesomeness. That is a need in itself.....[drool]

LoL...it's the power-draw that has me holding off. Gotta decide which rig starts to collect some dust...Crossfire or the wife's...and the wife's is the easiest on the power bill.

I'm actually liking havingthe time to assemble it right. when i got the parts, i verified that they were wroking, and boxed 'em back up. I'm at the point right now where overclcoknig is not such a big priority...so quick change-overs in parts is not a concern any more. I've got enough systems running for "the boys" when they come over to game, and i had them drooling over the G80 last week, but it really doesn't excite me for some odd reason. It was nice to play with the card, hold it in my hands...but that wore off quickly...

I get it...It would be nice to do a build and be able to take the time to do it like I want because I already have a nice rig running.

You are more patient than I. That much power would go straight to my head....

yeah..maybe...but play with it, and see just how useless THAT power really is, and you'd feel as i do.

Now don't get me wrong...it's a fantastic bit of kit, but the gains in comparison to my crossfire system are so small...maybe about the same as my enthusiasm

Second card should arrive tommorow or today(here's hoping, anyway), but i still have waterblocks from DangerDen to wait on...

i've actually noticed a fair increase in ambient temps(5c after 24 hours) once returning the x1900's to air...nice for winter.

I get the heat thing.

I had to move all my stuff downstairs due to the tropical temps in the room.

We keep our heat set to about 68 at night and it is still quite toasty downstairs. And I am sure your rig is expending a little more in the way of heat than my stuff is.

I do look forward to seeing the new case and the benchies of the 8800 rig.
