Stained Glass Case http://ultraproducts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2442 This thing is fantastic. I'm not sure why I like it, but I do.

Did you see the case side panels that booman made? |
| ||||
I'm not using that case anymore, but still have the plexi with the etching. I'm planning to re-use the etching in another case sometime.

That case is very cool. Stained glass isn't easy to make and form. He did a great job. I love how the whole case is somewhat transparent. Just in case the link doesn't work here it is... http://www.jimbo64.com/misc_images/4s.jpg

Isn't that side panel upside-down? It looks like the lilies should be the other direction? |

I think its the leaves on bamboo.

Ah, of course. I see the bamboo stalk now. |

To only make the case I'm sure he spent under $200. He had to buy all the lead, glass, copper, wood and whatever he used to connect it all. He could have easily reused drive cages from an old case. If he does stained glass for a hobby then he could have reused the lead from another project. As for the glass, either he made it from scratch or re-used the pieces from other stained glass windows. Like the kind you see at antique stores. He never posted a link to a work log, so its hard to tell if he actually did the mod. He didn't post a name for the mod either, so I can't search online for more info. I know for sure he spent way more in time than in money to make that case. Talk about many hours. I'm sure people would offer $500 for a case like that. Depending on its stability. Its a great mod. I love the star on the other side.

All of the afore mentioned are both beautiful and works of art. Congrats to all, I would be happy to have that case, and to put it on display.
