Caffeine machine

i had seen this mod on the net a long time ago.... http://petebevin.com/archives/2003/0...e_machine.html but the original article that had all the details of how to get the power to the coffee machine/hot plates is lost in 404 land from this site http://articles.pimprig.com/featured...ine.php?page=1 so i was wondering if you guys have a copy of the site somewhere.... i've got a computer case, and a coffee machine.... i want to merge the two without frying either.

Interesting mod. Most of the people in that forum had negative things to say and don't even hold back...
I'm glad AOA isn't like that. We get constructive criticism and compliments.

Are you a little worried about the heat issue?
Maybe a soda machine would be feasable?

If you're looking for archived pages, check google which has a "cache" link for some search results.

Otherwise, this place: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

i'm not too worried about heat, it's just a matter of it being easier to canablize my cheapy coffee machine and a couple used heat pad things.

edit: thanks danrok for the archive link.

Given that you'd have hotplates in the computer, it would be good to insulate them fairly well, so it doesn't add extra heat to the machine.

As far as the mains goes, it seems the original mod had the coffee machine and PSU set up pretty much independantly, except that the same mains connector was used to feed both the coffee machine and the PC. It's still documented on their web site - The Caffeine Machine.

I was thinking Dynamat for a car. Works great to insulate the firewall of a 500 HP street machine. It should work fine to insulate that beast.

I have had much better results from the stuff in a can that you can spray where you want. It keeps heat out more and deadens sound much more also.
