new mods?

i'll be switching cpu's soon and cpu coolers, sig, (will be selling the old). so in doing so that sets up and a good window of opportunity to do some mods since the mobo will be out. anyone think of some cool things to do. i was wanting to do some painting but what king of paint is it that you use? and it is hard, do you have to take out every screw and your case apart.

For painting metal cases, spary paint you would use on a car is ideal.

Usually, dismantling the object you need to paint is best. Otherwise, just use some masking tape to protect any bits you don't want to paint.

Generally, dark colors like gloss black are more difficult. Any flaws in your painting will show up more than with bright red, for example.

If spraying, use many very thin coats to get a better finish.

I love using the hammered finish paint because it hides any mistakes you make.
It will hide scratches, small dents, and if you coat it unevenly it still looks hammered.
Krylon plastic fusion

I've used it sooo many times and it turns out beautiful and rugged looking. It has a glossy look too.
If you have a homedepot near by, it will come in a few colors:
red, green, blue, purple, gray, dark-gray, black, copper

The only tips I have is what danrok said: make sure to spray evenly in thin coats. It will waste more paint, but the result is more consistant.
Also, maike sure to wait a few days before handling it a lot. It will seem dry the next day, but it will take alot longer to be totally dry.
Good luck, make sure to take a lot of pictures

Hammered paint:

Surface looks a little lumpy, as if it has been repeatedly hit with a small hammer.

Here is a great example of hammered finish...

new-mods-painted-stone-top.jpg

I've read about modders using glass at the bottom and the top of their case to make it seem larger that it really is.
Definitely do it! Specially when you have a lot of lights.
