Small 5 inch LCD for X-Box

I saw this and thought it would make a cool LCD for a computer mod.
Its pretty cheap at under $40 but it only has S-video and RCA video inputs. So it may not look as good as a VGA monitor, but would it work in a case if I ran the S-video to the videocard?

Xbox LCD

S-video isn't very good for displaying text and graphics, as the effective resolution is about 320x240, IIRC.

However, you could certainly use it as a second display for movies at that sort of thing.

The screen probably doesn't have a very high resolution - I suspect it probably tops out at around the 480x220 mark (or perhaps 480x440?).

PAL over S-Video can certainly manage more than 320x240 though - 640x480 is possible, although remember it will be interlaced. Whilst a graphics card will typically offer you resolutions as high as 1024x768, the maximum S-video can manage is going to be around the 740x480 point. The TV-encoder chip just scales it down!

So basicly you're all saying that it won't work even for something like a server because I won't be able to read text... etc.
I was thinking it would be cool to mod up a server-like computer that doesn't need its own monitor. I have one of those switches for mouse/keyboard/video so I can use the server without those devices, but a little separate LCD monitor would be neat. Fancy?

I'd look at Lilliput TFTs instead. Can be expensive, but I reckon if you hunt around you could pick up a 5" for $40. And it'll be vastly superior to an Xbox LCD or the PsOne LCD.
