It is just such a wonderful thhing when you start with an old vanilla case that most people would just turn their noses up at. And then turn it into something unique and beautiful. Makes me think of the story of, The Ugly Duckling". How in the end it becomes a beautiful Swan. Jeez I'm getting misty here. Really it looks from here like you are doing a beautiful job!

I'm with ya...
I love finding an old beige case and turning it into a brand new one with sparkles! Most people wouldn't even know it was an old case.
I have been thinking about purchasing new cases and modding them, but its so much easier to not worry about existing paint jobs. Also having to paint over a brand new paint job is hard to stomache.
sometimes the older cases don't have the amount of drive spaces like the newer cases. Most of them don't have the front USB connections and the power buttons can be messed up. You can allways mod the USB and power buttons into a case but newer cases allready have em and that saves time.
I guess in the end, I'd rather have my custom case with custom paint job and window. Its just so unique and you can make the case they way you want it.

Thanx for the comments fella's,

Its been a while since I started this project, so time for an update.

Not done masses more, just made that huge rectangle hole on the back abit bigger and cut another piece of aluminium, which will make the back panel. Into that panel I will be cutting holes for the I/O shield and the graphics card. I'm not planning to cut any holes for the expantion slots as I dont intend using any other cards.

Turns out that the sheet of metal I have is some sort of industrial steel, And very very very hard to drill through. Blunted 4 drill bits in a matter of minutes!

So not to be beaten I cut another 1 from the side panel of the case as this is much easier to work with!

The added bonus being I will now have a window in the side of the case!
Sweet adaptation there Dude! ":O}

Cut the holes for the I/O shield and graphics card.
Everything lines up well!!!!!

Cut a small hole for the lip on GC to take the weight off the card, may also screw this down for added security, but not decided yet.

Now going to attach the I/O sheild onto the back panel with chemical metal and leave to dry overnight.
