| Silence is kinda relative. I work in a very loud environment. I drive loud cars, I sit at a loud PC. I can't think or sleep if it's quiet. This NZXT PSU has fan only power connectors though, and if they aren't needed, they slow down or stop. When I game it screams, when I watch a movie the only thing making any real noise is the CPU fan. Luckily the server and the hub have a nice whine.

| They are the F.A. Porsche Avia Powerstixx 5.1's. They sound great for movies, and any time you can let them be loud. At low volume, they leave a lot to be desired. I'm picky though. The sound just doesn't scale well. You have to lower the bass a lot if you want to run them at low volume.

I suspect it has to do with the fact that low frequencies tend to travel longer distances than high frequencies. It probably also has something to do with how we perceive sound, but those are both just guesses, since I'm not an audio engineer. ![]()

| It also has a lot to do with the giant midrange gap you get when you have 20 1" drivers and 1 8" sub. What i want to do is buy a high quality 2 speaker, no sub set for the front channel, and Plug the Avia front channel into the side channel output instead for 7.1 with midrange. A setup like this only sounds good at high volume because it masks the total lack of midrange. They are very high quality, just not thought out enough.
