Window, some lights, nothing real amazing.

I've never put a window and lights in a PC before. Had the stuff lying around so I tore into this one today. I had the case open to put the little white jackstand under my sagging 8800GT, and figured, why not. The window is 1/4" clear Lexan. I may replace it with bronze tinted lexan. The case has 2 120mm, 1 92mm, and 1 80mm blue LED fans, 2 12 inch blue cold cathodes, and 6 blue laser LEDs. I'm tempted to order the 1st PC 250mm 800 rpm fan for the dumb side of the box. I need to find out what clearance it requires though. All pictures were taken in a lighted room. (200 watts of light on the ceiling, and 40watts in a wall lamp beind me.)

The window is attached with 8 standard hex head UNC 6-32 Case screws that are visible All of the lighs and the inverter are attached with 3M automotive trim tape. This stuff never lets go. I'm tempted to do a 120mm intake in the top and 2 or 3 80mm exhaust fans in the floor also.

The Black chrome casing of the NZXT PSU is beautiful. The pics don't do it justice.

Silence is overrated in the WZ household then, I take it?

Nice system though

Silence is kinda relative. I work in a very loud environment. I drive loud cars, I sit at a loud PC. I can't think or sleep if it's quiet. This NZXT PSU has fan only power connectors though, and if they aren't needed, they slow down or stop. When I game it screams, when I watch a movie the only thing making any real noise is the CPU fan. Luckily the server and the hub have a nice whine.

They are the F.A. Porsche Avia Powerstixx 5.1's. They sound great for movies, and any time you can let them be loud. At low volume, they leave a lot to be desired. I'm picky though. The sound just doesn't scale well. You have to lower the bass a lot if you want to run them at low volume.

That seems to be typical of speaker systems though, at least in my (admittedly limited) experience.

I suspect it has to do with the fact that low frequencies tend to travel longer distances than high frequencies. It probably also has something to do with how we perceive sound, but those are both just guesses, since I'm not an audio engineer.

It also has a lot to do with the giant midrange gap you get when you have 20 1" drivers and 1 8" sub. What i want to do is buy a high quality 2 speaker, no sub set for the front channel, and Plug the Avia front channel into the side channel output instead for 7.1 with midrange.

A setup like this only sounds good at high volume because it masks the total lack of midrange. They are very high quality, just not thought out enough.
