Its true... the only contest I ever won was the AOA case mod contest. And I won because everyone else dropped out.

Sorry you didn't win. That's the way the game works for most of us. I have been racing for 25 years, I've won my fair share of local events, trophies and cash, but I have yet to win the coveted Wally. My brother's 12 year old daughter won a wally in her second year of racing junior dragster though.

In the computer world, I did manage to win the 2009 Gentoo screenshot contest, so I feel pretty good about that, except I don't feel mine was the best.

Isn't that funny? I've never met anyone who always wins. Usually we say "I never win anything"
Thats cool you win in your favorite hobby.
Most of my hobbies are not competition based. Instead they are very independent and free to grow at your own speed.
In the last 15 years I have:
1. skateboarded
2. play drums
3. play guitar
4. create websites
5. mod computer cases
6. learned to sing
7. did some Kendo (Japanese Sword Fighting)

Besides all of those, I have always been an artist creating Pottery, Drawings, and some sculptural artwork.

I don't really ever compete in these except the PC case mods. My main goal is to win some computer hardware because I can't afford them.

I've heard that linux community came up with better implemented security in it's latest Linux Mint Gold version, it's actually preventing the user to log in, thus posing 0 risk in contamining the computer with malware! Well done to the open source community!
