Is is against the rules for me to post a link to an Australian PC enthusiast's site that has a case mod gallery with some stellar pics? Oh well, it's not a link! Triple dubya dot overclockers.com/au . It's worth the clicks!
Post away! Links to third party sites, (Non-Porn, non-Warez) Are just fine. We only object to non-Allied sites posting adds or re-directs to their own sites.

Some one remind me to pick up a cam sometime this week. Just moved the system to a new case. It's ripe for modding.

This is hardly what one would call your average mod...

Behold, the power of rackmount ownage - my home-built rack cabinet:
http://www.ocmojo.com/guides/rack_ca..._equipment.jpg

Article on how to build your own is here.

The cooling system (second item from the top) is home-built as well - an article on building it is sitting here waiting to be posted. The rest is a rather run-of-the-mill stereo and a 1,500VA UPS I bought off eBay for $80 that was in need of a new set of batteries. The whole rack is UPSsed and can run for about an hour without any AC power.

Nope, it's one of my speakers.

One of my many hobbies is building speakers - all of mine are products of my own deranged mind, including my sub that hits down to 16 Hz. (Not bad for a single dual-coil 10" driver in a 6th-order bandpass box.) That 5-gallon pail (which is really 3.5 gallons, same diameter but about 6 inches shorter) is partially full of acoustic batting (which looks like poly fiberfill) and has a triax 6x9 in it. Sound quality's surprisingly good (on par with a lot of bookshelf speakers), and it survived my swept-sine tests at 130W RMS.

Sound wuality is on par with Bose's latest cube speaker set, although their Acoustimass sub delivers better/lower bass below about 60 Hz. Aside from that the quality is pretty close (close enough that friends couldn't pick one frm the other when hidden with a sheet of cloth.)

I built 'em about 12 years ago and they've been everywhere - I even took them along when I was a disaster-relief worker in Dade County, FL after hurricane Andrew levelled the place. I'd set 'em somewhere suitable and run some cable from a spool I carried along with, and just plugged them into a car stereo, etc.
