PC or Console ?

Here's my PC with a game console look. The case is "off the shelf" but I still think it looks cool.
I don't know if it counts as a mod but it can be overclocked on 2 low speed fans. I mean, passive cooling needs a lot of work

hey thanks!

As you can see, it's a little tough putting a whole through the panels since they're plastic so I went for the motherboard instead

He's mentioned that they've improved... but I guess you want the details! ":O}

only 9600XT's, 9800XT's, and above have temp sensors, and only some have the memory temp...such as my asus card. I bought it as a 9800pro, but it's really an XT.

9600XT has it on-die, as do the x800's.... the 9800XT's use an external sensor, except with memory monitoring, as the sensors are in the middle of the ramchips.

You've given me an opening to show off!

It's pretty standard stuff for a $850 PC:
Athlon64 3000+
Epox 8kda3j mobo
9600XT gfx card
1GB DDR400 RAM
1 80GB hd, 1 40GB hd
Sony DVD-ROM, Sony DVD-Writer

The things that make it stand out are:
ViewSonic Keyboard(!)
Black Plastic Case
3 gamepads, one with motion sensing and one with force feedback
Passive cooling

I built the PC as a dare from a friend who said you can't build a PC that's as cool as a console

the gamepad with motion sensing is the Microsoft Sidewinder Freestyle.
It only detects tilt and yaw, and that puts a lot of strain on your wrists.
Plus everyone who plays with it looks stupid twisting the pad up and down/ left and right like 5 year olds.
The motion sensing just sounds cool when you mention it
Force feedback on the other hand is great.

PC Gamepads aren't as expensive as they used to be as long as it's not a logitech. Why go for a $50 Logitech pad instead of a $5 Chinese brand if they're both manufactured in the same country??
Some Logitech gamepads don't even work right
