The Hiper X-Connects have been slaughetered in this months CPC. They tested 31 PSUs to 100% load using £22000 worth of PSU testing equipment.
Alarmingly, 15 failed and 9 blew up.
Many simply are not what they claim. A Generic 600W PSU (probably from eBuyer) was actually a 300w PSU.

The following PSUs are to be avoided at all costs, as they are dangerous and failed at 100% load. Some even failed at 75%.

Generic 400W
Thermaltake PurePower 480APD
Ultra XConnect 500W
Generic 600W
Antec TrueControl 550
SilenX iXtrema Pro A-PFC 600W
Q-Tec 650W Triple Fan24p
OCZ PowerStream OCZ600ADJ-EU
Enermax EG701AX-VE(W)SFMA

These PSUs should be avoided at all costs, expecially on a demanding system.
I really strongly advise if you have any of these you should think of a replacement. This CPC labs test is the first of it's kind, I'd get a copy if I was you!

On air? You are insane.

Shamino has got 17433 with his system.

Some guy with a 9.6ghz Athlong 64 has 23548. But that is with unofficial drivers too.

Love the Powerstream Cadaveca! Did you somehow incorporate the crockpot into all of that?
