Can't think of a single reason people wouldn't want to add to your fine gallery! Will done Jin Wei!

now i dont know exactly where i'll keep the light, it would be more appropriate for full towers due to it's length. i think once i disassemble it, it'll be a bit more workable.. and alternatively, i could cut out a space for rear protrusion.

notice my grate inserts?
awesome for fan placement, and easy for re-placement, whilst providing finger protection

the light is sound activated, it pulses to music, and has variable sensitivity. it can also be switched to constantly on.

the fans will be on a homemade bus i'm working on.

the grate is also welded into my side panel...
90% of the side = grate..
maximum fan mounting options and good airflow.

you dont see that yet, cuz inside is a mess still...
round cables coming, and wiring will be tidy after fanbus is completed.

now i am left with the drives...

not sure what i'll do with the faces yet.

i'm also incorporating a 4 port USB hub to the front,
plans to add a dual temp display,

and probly gonna mod the fans with LED's...

if i can find any other good ideas, i'll jump all over em'

so whadda y'all think?

Kickin' " work in progress". The expanded metal is great. I must say that is the first time I have seen that used. can't wait to see the finished MOD......

yea, i cut the holes with a plasma cutter, then welded in the grate.

thinking black wire ties would make fan placement, removal, and just generally allowing for experimentation extremely easy.

just shows what a little thought process while wandering around in a Home Depot will yield eh'

the metal was like $8

i do wish i had the thought to grind the whole case, because i did'nt, so the paint shows some metal blems. these are cheap cases w/ very thin metal.

the main advantage to this mod is having the extra drive bays and a good spot for the 2nd PSU... none of which was sufficient with a single case. the added ease of fan mounting, and what i think is a pretty original look.

thanks for your comments

I'm almost done with the mod. I need to clean up my cabling (again...), install blue leds in the CD-Rom, CDRW, floppy & zip. Replaced the power & hdd activity with bloo's already. then paint frame & case. still dont know what color i'm goin..any suggestions welcomed...

Shouldn't the hard drives be in the dumb box, though? They are a heat issue. You got SCSI in there, or a pile of IDE's? I was toying with the idea of putting all of my drives in one box, and just my mobo in another, wih the PSU mounted on the outside. HVD SCSI would let me put the drives on the other side of the house.

Why not add a passive backplane to the second box? (more PCI slots... I really don't know how they work, but It doesn't seem to require a special mobo, from what I've see.)

Thumbs up WHOA

I am sorry but Babster's Wooden case blew my mind completely. That thing is a work of art. Awesome craftsmanship; must've taken a long time. GOOD WORK!
