Full speed ahead

I am presently Building a new box, And puchased 80mm enermax smart fans. I want to run 2 of them for exhaust at full speed.

Do I need to get variable resistors or does someone know what resistor it requires to run full speed?

Just for future references if the thermister lead is cut off and the two wires are soldered together the enermax smart fans will run at max speed.:clown:

I have 4 of those fans. I cut the thermistor off all of them, soldered the wires together... Not that noisy, not like, say, a Panaflo 92mm or anything. I connected all of them to my fanbus/voltage control, and they work fine.

Yarr. People have commented that my machines are loud. The A box reads 71 db near the rear. What's loud about that?

My wife is the oppisite. I bought a Swiftech MC462A with the 68cfm delta screamer. I put it in and and took my overclock from 1.2 to 1.46GHz (1GHz Tbird). After about 2 hours I couldn't take it anymore. I wanted to pull it out. But my wife said if it made her computer faster and cooler she wanted it left in! So I put my foot down. And sound proofed the heck out of the case.

Wow, I have 2 120mm, 3 80mm, and a 60mm slicer! It sounds like a hair dryer, but since i am half deaf anyway it doesnt bother me. My wife complanes every now and then but not enough to romove the fans!

Just orderd a new case, adding 2 more 80's! Cooling shouldnt be a problem after that!
