| Then, your case temp is the problem... Sounds like your room is very hot. There's a few things you can do... mostly housekeeping. I just cleaned out all the dust from one of my cases. It made a noticable difference since there was a lot of dust build up, especially around the heatsinks. I think it dropped the CPU temp 2-3c. If your room is hot, there's no way the CPU will run cool..... Run air conditioning. Beyond that, if it is stable let it go. Even if you have a dozen fans blowing, if the room is hot, you're just blowing hot air around.

Your CPU temps are never going to be below your ambient air temperatures, (on normal air cooling anyway). I'd recommend ducting outside air from an intake fan directly to the intake fan on top of the Heatsink. That makes a dramatic difference! Think of it like an air conditioning duct/vent for your CPU.

| Idle temps dont matter, its what th eload temps are. They make no differenceon anything. Although higher idle temps should mean higher load temps. Those temps are pretty acurate. my 8k3a is dead on, I graphed a plot of delta vs wattage and it went right to zero. Jon

| "My chieftec silver dragon has five 80mm case fans", Let me guess: 2 drawing in the front, 2 pushing out the back, and 1 on the side blowing across. Does your psu have 2 or 1 ? You might want to try unplugging and temporarily blocking the vent on the side cover fan if you are using one, it may be causing distortion in your airflow. And like Steve1 mentioned , dust buildup is gonna be a re-occuring problem unless your in a clean (filtered) room. I used to use too much thermal paste until I read and re-read the guidelines for usage at the Artic Silver site. http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_s...structions.htm It could be a combination of everything mentioned. It has been hot in my part of the world also (middle eastern US). Bob |
