Fan work

Well, I got tired of my system running so hot. (case temps 54 degrees according to bios) And it was giving me problems with my overclock so I decided to fix it.

First thing I did was add a couple of fans to the front of the case. Ones a 80mm that has lights (blue) and the other is a metal 60mm. (looks cool!!)

Well, I here is something that I'm going to have to fix. (I forgot to take a pic BEFORE I did the mod, so this is an edited pic)

Here is a pic that I took after I took my pliers to it. (sorry no dremal yet maybe for christmas!?!)

So now I have freash air comming in, I need freash air going out. So I added this fan, and made sure it exhausted air out. (this one is also a blue fan)

Well, that's it for this time on my computer. I think I'll be getting dremal next week and open up the holes for the fans, this way I get alot more air threw my case.

Temps have dropped quite a bit (46 according to the bios) and I must say it was nice to go thew and clean it up some.

Those air holes for the fan are way too small. I hate cases that do that. A hole saw could do wonders for your airflow.... and proably would drop your temps another 3c at least.

Robbie, you may find you can improve air flow by sealing off any holes near your rear exhaust fan. This way the fan will draw air from deeper inside the case.

yea rob... these people are definetly correct... the grill for your fans (part of the case) is the same as mine was.... it actually deflects hot air back into the case.... caused a whole lotta problems for me

i got a dremel so if you wanna swing on by my house i'll help ya out brother

also... if you can i would suggest cutting a hole to put a fan on the side of your case blowing air in over the expansion cards

helped mine alot... but my system still runs at 120 (farenheit) ...

And here is the front of my case, you can kinda see the light from the blue fan showing threw. I think I'm goign to ditch the 60mm and put another blue 80mm there.

With that and opening up the holes alot more I think I'll probably drop at least another 5-7 degrees in my case temps.

Ok, I got bored and decided to tear apart my case and do some more work and post pix like I promised.

Case temps have acctually raised some when I put my water cooling kit in. Not to sure why, maybe becuase there is no longer a fan in there spinning at 5,000 rpm moving the air around?!??!

lol, I know the "I'll just use my pliars to rip it apart" method, christmas approaches, maybe santa will bring me a dremmel as well. lol
