Hows this look? (test lapping)

Hows this for my first lapping practise? Just attacked the amd retail sink see what I could do... couldnt find anything finer than 600 grit sandpaper so used that to the point where I was just pushing the sink around the paper without any downward force but its own weight. It worth wetting the paper towards the end?

Could you perhaps post a larger pic? It isn't easy to see much on that pic you have (I use 1600*1200 so it is kinda small)

Do you have a piece of glass or similar to put the sand paper on?

Ill see what I can sort on larger pic but thats the basic output from my webcam, was using glass yup Its not SHINEY but kinda on the way, some of the marks from the sandpaper can still be seen... take it should be completely smooth with no marks if I get it right?

I used Autochrome polish (I think that's what its called, its like white and creamy...) on some heatsinks to really finish them off. It works pretty well on copper because it oxidises it (slowly). Just make sure you clean it off properly afterwards or it will carry on oxidising.

I use MAAS metal polish to get it shiney, makes it nice and reflective, any metal polish will work
