Volcano 9 sensor thing

I recently installed my Thermaltake Volcano 9 and it has a wire attached to it with what i think may be some kind of temperature probe on the end. It is like a white cylinder with a diamter of probably 1/4 in. Question is what is this and where do i put it? It is obvious it won't go in between the heatsink/cpu (like all the other ones i have seen) since it is so big.
