 Thermaltake ducting mod ? I know most you guys out there don't care for it but put that aside. Do you think a thermaltake smartfan or tornado(which is thicker) would be too much weight for the AMD socket? It will be connected to a volcano 9(yea, I know) which has three prong connectors on the heatsink.... Any ideas would be appreciated.... Tom

| probably not. i doubt the volcano 9 and duct/fan would weigh more combined than the slk-800 and sf2 on my brother's computer (~600grams) on a sidenote i had a 900gram heatsink on my P4 and it didnt do any damage, so i think you're in the clear. you should go with the smart fan 2, it pushes only 10 less Cubic feet, but is also 10dB quieter.

| The P4's heatspreader provides some level of protection to the core. AMD's chips don't have so much protection...

| I use an SLK900a with SF2, and I've had no issues. Also, 2 systems with SK7 & SF2... all fine. I've been using copper heatsinks for a while, knock on wood, no broken lugs.
