Finally, real HSF tests with an XP internal diode!

hehe, not really the first.

As far as I know I was first, in the articles section of http://www.a7vtroubleshooting.com

Direct Link:

http://a7vtroubleshooting.com/articl...lers/index.htm

Dated 6.8.2001

... and even testing Dynatron Coolers by then

Using a Fujitsu Siemens D1289 Mainboard, the internal diode of AThlonXPs (and MPs and Morgan Durons) could be read since the last half of 2001 ...

Unfortunately I had not many of the really interesting heatsinks available

Juggernaut - I read your article. Very well done and I am aware that it was the first. It's bookmarked and I have used it several times for explaining the in-socket thermistor problem to folks that just don't want to hear it. Unfortunately the Fujitsu Siemens D1289 is made out of unobtainium in the US. I tried to buy one for testing. There is only one dealer here and they don't return their phone calls.
