AthlonXP-compatible cooler compatible with Athlon(tm)?

Hi,

I have a fairly old Athlon(tm) 1333 (266 FSB) with an inadequate fan. All the snazzy new fans I see while shopping around seem to indicate that they are compatible with AthlonXP and beyond (for instance). And I'm wondering if anyone thinks a fan like this would fit and work on my processor. Or will I have to look for a Volcano 6, or something old like that?

Thank you.
Gratznic

You dont need anything fancy for that kind or processor. this should be more than enough: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...106-602&depa=0

it is compatible with your socket, since Athlon 1.3's use socket 462

Oops, I caught the attention of co-workers because I started laughing at your cat.... I mean, with your cat.

All right, thanks. I'll just go with that fan. It looks good. The first fan I had got busted fairly early in its life, and I had it replaced by local tech guys when I was bringing it in for that and some other problem. And the one they gave me is loud and doesn't work to keep the thing cooled on a hot day. But in the meantime I've learned how to fix little things with this myself. And I think I got a little overexcited about looking for the biggest and brightest fans....it's the heat, it's frying my brain.
