Silent Fans

I know that I am quandering the age old problem more cooling or more quiet, but I am going to dive in anyway. Does anyone know of some really silent really good fans? I am looking for cpu and case fans. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have the $ then silenx.com has by far the quietest fans on the market. I think their loudest is only 14db at a decent cfm (don't remember exactly). At about $15 each they are a bit pricey for me. A cheaper alternative is the panflo. Both are quite because they have simmilar bearings that are based on some innovative technology that I don't care about as long as it works.

Quiet CPU fan is difficult because the back pressure from the heat sink causes a slight increase in noise. So a heatsink with wide gaps between the fins helps here. Zalman make sinks which fit this requirement.

Why not have selectable cooling and noise by buying a fan speed controller to fit in a drive bay?
