Zalman 7000

I was getting a bit fed up with the sort of whiny noise the stock cooler made on my wifes machine so invested in the Zalman.

Okay, get the old hsf out, he Zalman doesn't use the stock mount either so that has to go as well. That's the zalman backplate that comes with the 7000A. Look at the dust bunnies

And I'm quite pleased with the results. Both of these were taken after running 30 minutes of FAH, a nice reduction in temps (some of which could have been achieved by cleaning the stock HSF) AND noise which was the main object

So, the CPU is 8 degrees cooler with the Zalman? That's a good result!

I have the same cooler sitting here idle. It is quiet, but can become noisey when the dust builds up on it.
