I Hate Capacitors!

BAH! glued my direct die block to my XP, all perfect! nicely sealed, went to install onto my 8KHA+ and the outlet pipe hits a capacitor! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

pulled it off, now i gotta peel a load of silicon of the XP and reglue the damn thing! ARGH! also bent a couple pins on the CPU! DOH!

Man, do I hate bent processor pins. Straightening them is difficult. Bend 'em once too often...keychain. Arrgh. You have my sympathy, Randome Nonsense. I sincerely hope that they straighten easily. Do you have to de-solder the offending cap(s)?

A good way to make sure the pins are straight is to look at the chip from exactly side on, looking down the gap between rows of pins, this way its simple to spot even a TINY bend.

The block i made was the successor to the sunny D cooler.... wasmade from a bit of PVC pipe and a bottle lid!
