Stupid question, I should know better!

will:

power:

I have this thing in my mind telling me that running things that close to thier rated thresholds is bad for them...but then i look at the meanwells, and they are 1amp less than what the 226w pelt is rated for. I just don't want a powersupply blowing up in my friends box.

well it's high enough wattage, and the peltier is rated up to 16V so a 15V supply shouldn't be a problem, theres plenty of head room.

Should work fine. Even if it has a voltage adjustment and you can set it to 16v you are still only going to draw 8 amps and it is rated for 10.

What's it for? video card?

Yup, a GF4 in fact Might not be the most awesome thing to put it on, but it should get good temps. I had some spare parts laying around, he had some small money...
I was mostly worried about blowing up the powersupply from overdraw. I'm pretty sure tec's shouldn't be run at full power anyways since you need to find the balence of pumping power and heat produced anyways. So basically the tec wouldn't damage the powersupply, and the otherway around?
