cut up heatsink for ramsinks?

hey i got this heatsink from a p2 processor.. im wondering if it would be worth cutting up and using it as a ramsink on my video card..

kinda like this one on the right

my video card does overheat too

i also got some of the little heatsinks from my friends 9npa+ ultra

Yes it works I've done it a few times before, and the heatsink paste can even hold them on aswell.

I d suggest epoxy or tape to make sure they dont accidentally fall off and short something out

on the cheap side, thermal paste and superglue in the corners works. Also if you have the clearance, cover 2 or more chips with the same chunk of heatsink, saves you the trouble of cutting and cools better.

My video card is recycled heatsinks, ramsinks held on with super glue, gpu sink help on with zip ties. IMHO recycled cpu heatsinks are great for videocards. Not to mention they are nearly free or cheap.

*edit, those heatsinks look big, so if you can get it, thermal epoxy. If not, maybe superglue and backup zip ties, but that depends on how ghetto you do things.
