Peltier questions

I have a question that so far has dodged all my search efforts on the net. So if you have say a 80w tec that has a maximum heat difference of like 60C (made up numbers,) how would the tec behave if you used it "backwards", heating one side and cooling the other to produce electricity, and you created a temp. difference greater than 60C?

It would generate some power. The amount of power generated would depend on the temperature differential between the sides.

The maximum temperature differential should not be exceeded. It's because the design of the module doesn't allow for that much thermal stress between the two sides. If you do exceed it, you may find that the internals are damaged due to the cracks appearing in the connecting structures.
