fans = good.. look for the olc server size PSU's they mostly have good fans in them. Also if your usin the "stock" AMD heatsink on the CPU, that aint helpin any. try and pick up a better cooler, the Thermaltake brand ones seem to be the best performers for the price. try and get one with some copper for the CPU ...I think the 6cu is less than $10, and the 7cu is less than $20... as for overclocking, the biggest obstacle is heat, so your definetly on the right path :-D

First of all, make sure that your case follows the AMD recommended spec which is available at the AMD website i.e. the power supply has to above the CPU. One way to chek this is to take off your side panel, if you see that the power supply blocks your view of the heatsink/fan and CPU, that means it is not the correct case for an AMD processor......this will definitely raise the CPU temp....... Second, a good heatsink is a must.....if you wana save money.....go for a Thermaltake 6Cu+ or a Globalwin SAK 38..both are 7000 rpm and are copper based ![]() Third, you might want to try out Arctic Silver 2 or 3 on the heatsink instead of the stock thermal pad/thermal paste. I suggest get a good case first......getting a better heatsink will not help that much if you have the wrong case. Dont hesitate to post if you need more help ![]() |
