Fans not spinning right

i've got a fan from an old PSU, and a fan on my GeForce2mx that aren't spinning properly, i've cleaned them out with paper towel very carefully, but that didn't really help.

Any suggestions?

I wouldn't suggest all that at all. Lubricating the magnet is completely pointless and is a pain to get at.

Instead, do the first three steps/pictures, so you have access to the bearing assembly, and then put a drop of oil in there. Note that not all fans have anything other than a sticker over the back end of the bearing assembly.

CapitanC make sure that you use very sight oil, like sewing machine oil and not to much or it will spin very slow.

Is it a three-wire fan? If so, then either the fan is messed up and not sending the proper information to the fan speed sensor, or the fan speed sensor is messed up (meaning a chip on your mobo is hurt).

If it isn't a three-wire fan, then that's your problem. You need a three-wire fan to get fan speeds.
