2 sticks A-data 512-MB RAM, running 5-6-6-15 timing at 1:1 and 533 MHz. This leads me to ask does brand matter? Or is this some super special pair?

Is that a world record for a single core?

I wish I could tell more. What voltage is this thing running at?

It shows on the other site that they made some voltage adjustments to the board to get 8000. But an unmodified board to get 7500....WOW

I think they are running 1.9v. They are getting ready to do a vMod for 2.1 or 2.2 v.

That is a good volt jump on that chip.

So basically, the only thing that allowed this big of an OC is the cooling?

That and the 631 is actually a good chip and doesnt need all that much power to start off with 65nm has certainly put intel back in the game which 90nm lost. I wonder what its super pi time was like!

Eh, cooling is the only thing that EVER allows huge OCs. You know THAT!

I didn't think Windows allowed CPU's above 6Ghz to boot into Windows, or maybe that was a myth i heard.

Not a Myth! Windows needs more time to lose it's own ass than super fast boots allow for! ":O}
