Nanotubes, Thermal Management in Electronics

Techology News Daily

As the electronics industry continues to churn out smaller and slimmer portable devices, manufacturers have been challenged to find new ways to combat the persistent problem of thermal management. New research published in the March 19 issue of Applied Physics Letters suggests that carbon nanotubes may soon be integrated into ever-shrinking cell phones, digital audio players, and personal digital assistants to help ensure the equipment does not overheat, malfunction, or fail.

Passive cooling a reality again? Now that would be sweet. Oh what the hell we could still put a fan on 'em. ":O}

Or a waterblock, there's always that option.

If your mobile phone can make international calls with standard cooling, then with water cooling and a peltier you could probably call Centauri Prime, Narn, and Minbar, not to mention the Vorlons out on the rim.

They would give you the phone to have you make the call, then they would own you... for-ev-er!

However do it right and you'll be dead befor they pick up on the other end making your call bill-able. Just thought you'd want to know your options...
