8800GTX SLI Cooling help

Hi guys

I seem to have a hot spot in my case. I am running a Thermaltake Kandalf LCS case with my CPU watercooled. However my 8800's seem to get a bit toasty (its a bit of a squeeze in there. Can you guys think of anything that will help keep the temps in that area of the case down?

Do you have any fans in the side of the case directed to your cards?

well....":O}

I redirected two fans, added two fans and a blower, this with water cooling for CPU and my 8800 GTS OC in place...ONE GTS in place, with two,..You might start with a 120 Fan aimed right at it and go from there...or water cool your cards...?

I did have 2 danger den water blocks for the cards but the way that the case is set out it ment that I only had 3cm clear from the nozzels and the bottom of the case so I couldnt cool both cards that way.

I havent got a fan on the side of my case how hard is it to cut a hole in perspex?

Would a blower inbetween both cards be of any use?

You can use a CD to mark your 120mm hole. It's the same size. It is very easy to cut perspex. A gig saw, or even pick up a cheap hole saw for a drill. Take your time and all will be well.

I've done a small write up on the Koolance cooler, (Takes up less than a 1/2 inch of slot thickness) it should post sometime today on Front Page or tomorrow, worth a look as I suspect cooling will be a real problem for systems using one, let alone two of the 8800's.

That would be great! Plus I can put my physix card back in! Took it out as I thought it was a wast for a £80 to be in the machine and a £400 card to sit on the side

The block that Daniel used should fit fine. I would still put at least one 120mm fan in the side panel to get some air on those bad boys.

Sweet with the blocks being thinner should be able to run the pipe along the bottom of the case instead of between the cards.

You might like this even better! ":O}

But please wait and read my article, I want you well informed before you commit...":O}

I can't tell what kind of cooling power you have there. My Koolance is rated to 700 heat watts run full on up to 77F... to be honest I think it can handle a second card, but not without effect. But I'm just guessing...

Does anyone else think it would be great if they turned these cards over so we can look down on our coolers instead of getting nek creaks trying to see 'em?

Is that one a water block?? If so the problem I get is my second card hasnt got enough room to get the pipe to it without it folding over.
