death of a beast
hey guys

Just turned PC my PC on and it looks like the pump has buggered up spraying water all over the place. Didnt realise this until the PC shut down after a few seconds of sitting in vista. I now wont post and pump aint pumping. will I have buggered Mobo, CPU, RAM and Gfx card?

Use compressed air and a little rubbing alcohol. The alcohol will remove any contaminants on the card as well as help dry the card. It evaporates faster than water. I have been successful a couple of times. Powering it right back up is a bad thing.

Clean it and dry it and let it set for a couple of days....

I once watched water flow ore my mommy board and raced to shut her down...didn't make it, shut herself down...hard...

Took her apart.... let her dry, put her together... BINGO!! No promises, but I'd say your chances are good of walking away from this one... best wishes!

Cheers guys gave it a good drying out and the PC boots (ie mouse comes on keyboard does its thing no beeps etc) however it dosnt post. Going to try one of my misses' 7800's in there to see if it will boot on that.

got it all sat infront of a radiator at the moment. Think there may be water in the PCI-E slot making the signal from the gfx card be interupted. Well thats what I am hoping for anyway! Whens the 9800 out?

Just flicked it on and it lives! Just have to get a new pump now, going to see if what thermaltake will do as its only 3 months old
