hmmmm.....

Here's a rough drawing of something I saw in my favorite surplus store yesterday. My question is "Would this look to be any good to cool a cpu to you people?"

Mounting difficulties notwithstanding, that problem I'm aware of already.

Wouldn't it work better to have the copper* pipe low in the bottom and 'loop' up and through the top like on a HHC001?

Nope, Active Surplus, Queen st just west of the Much Music building. Usually the gorilla's standing out front of the store. They're loaded with all kinds of crap there (useless and usefull).

It looks interesting. If it's reasonably priced and you know how you're going to cinch it down on a CPU, why not give it a try? At "stock" to start with, of course. Hmm. Something about it may not be quite right. I kinda think that the copper pipe my not suck heat away from the "thick" finned end and transfer it to the "micro" finned end all that well. It may also need two fans, one for the "thick" end and another for the "thin" end.
