Removing thermal paste on Memory

Hi everybody.

I'm new here, so I just expect that I am in the right place!

Alright, let's begin...

I will OC (In a few week) my good old P4 just to familiarise with the OC.

But first, I would like to change the memory heatsink.

Those things are sticked like ***** and I would like to know YOUR advice to remoove them... or not. I got Corsair CMX512-3200 XL (4X512) PC 3200 XMS 2.2.2.5. These things are NOT replacable. So I would like to take care of them preciously.

Yes, I know... I could put a fan near them... or give more air flow to my case but new heatsink + new fan will give better results and look shiny...

My case indicate me that my memory go around 60 in burning test using OCCT. It is too much or they could handle more?

Thanks for your reply.

NB: I know I don't post my spec here, simply because I am sure that you don't need them for that.

I would put a fan on them, but really ram heatsinks do not do all that much, at least for DDR RAM, so I think the gains you would be seeing wouldn't be worth your effort - just stick a fan on 'em

I agree. there are some really nice RAM coolers out there and they are cheap. You can get one with led in it and it will get you the bling and the cool. As Favu stated, you will not gain anything by ram sinks. Moving the air will be more than enough. that is good memory you have so it should not hold you back at all.

OH yea....

Welcome to AOA....
