ya! take everything you hear with a grain of salt.. people will tell you you need 1/2" hoses and stuff like that , but it aint so, my best advice is to keep it simple to start , and use good materials, there are way too many stories of guys whose caulking leaked and flooded their system.

if you use epoxy, make sure its marine epoxy! or you will learn a lot about water immersion cooling real fast! (i did, and it doesnt work with tapwater very well)

Read spodesabode.

Look on overclockers.com

Milling copper is a bugger without the right equipment (ive tried it) as is glueing plexy to copper unless you have the correct glue (also tried that)

Dont get too ambitious straight away (tried that)

Measure everything three times (at least once when sober)

Test if for a good length of time before using it in your PC.

Put glycol or water wetter (additive) to stop stuff growning in your water and to reduce corrosion.

Avoid mixing metals in your system..keep it all copper if possible as copper ions will corrode alluminium.

i will use marine epoxy or the like to but it on
hmmm...dont kno if im ambitious...

I made** mine with no help and no experience.

If you have a technition who can help with the milling then most of you will be in a much better position than me and my £50 pillar drill.

**Technically I didnt make it as it didnt work.

It's a rubber or nitrile "O" shaped gasket that would fit intoo a groove milled at the perimiter of the block that would provide additional leak protection.

What sort of design are you looking at machining?? spiral?? Maze?? or a combination of the two?? there's a really nice funky design that i've seen in a few other forums, i did post it here but it got deleted for some reason. I know i'm going to be buying one, but i'm going to mod it a little. going to indent the bottom of the channels to make a ripple effect and also drill out the walls of the channels a little to make a ripple across the walls, turbulance is an important factor in your design, also make sure you know what sort of fittings your going to be using and design the channels large enough so the flow is not interrupted too much only by turbulance. sharp corner help create turblance.

have a look at some of the other designs most of the best ones are based on the Maze2 design and are other ppls revisions of those. good luck with it and post some nice piccies so we can all see the end result
