As you know already the quads are very good for multitasking, but for gaming have no advantage over a duo core.

So the question is...What are you going to be using your system for mainly???

Because I mostly use my system for video gaming, I'd go with the E8400 because it's got great OC speed with low temps & would be an excellent CPU for gaming at a relatively low cost. It also has 6mbs of L2 cache over the other's that have 4mbs.
Keep in mind, the more L2 cache the CPU has, the faster it will run software & games...
Another thing to keep in mind is the very low multi that the Q8300 has being 7.5.
So unless your mobo can do a consistent solid 500 FSB (3.750GHz) getting it to clock higher won't be easy.
With that said I would go with the E8400... This is MY choice though.

No matter what you choice ends up being, you will still have an excellent gaming system with good OC potential given the choices above for a CPU.

PPM, in one of your diagrams it says "1200" fans. Do you really mean 1200mm? That's more than 36 inches. I know you use some LARGE fans, but how in the world can anyone keep up with 36 inch fans?

I don't know where I would have said that. If I did it's a typo or something. In the Tt case are two 120mm and two 230mm fans.

Seems my cooler has a slight edge on cooling performance as it's got more surface area.
Even still this cooler should do a good job on cooling your AMD CPU!

Remember to take off the clear plastic fan shroud! This is just to protect it during shipping
& not meant to be kept on...it will also run cooler & be quieter with it removed.

Btw, my current core temps are 22 & 24c. (72-75F)
i started occt before i went to work to find out what the temps were under 100% load were and it was 67c without any overclocking
cant wait for the zalman cooler to arrive tomorrow
