Fan "rules"

Are the relavent specs for fans such that you can tell how well two fans will compare in CFMs by the amps they draw? I've got several 120mmm fans that are .44A that I bought from my prefered fan place in TO about 6 months ago. I was back there today and they've only got one or two of them left but they've now got a box full of .8A fans (120mm again) and I'm just wondering if that means that these new fans they have will move almost twice the amount of air or does the amount of amps drawn hold no relavence? Just to answer the question before it's asked the actual blades of the two fans are roughly equal in size and shape.

Some of the difference in amperage may be because of differences in motor efficiency. But the higher amperage fans probably either have a more aggressive blade pitch(requiring more motor torque), or rotate faster, both of which move more air. So to answer your question, the .8A fans probably move more air, maybe not 100% more, but I'd guess they move at least 50% more.
