I hear ya dimm! thought it was that way! i have seen some people get good results that way! but im not willing to risk it! would a single layer of 4 pelts be worth the effort? none stacked all on one cold plate?

that would be a buttload of power. I know my dual 172's were way to underpowered with my psu for em.

The higher the Qmax, the closer you will get to the peltiers zero load DeltaT.

Figure it like this:

C=CPU load in thermal wattage
D=Your DeltaT in degrees Kelvin (AKA, temperature differential between pelter's hot and cold sides in degrees Celsius)Z=Zero Load DeltaT provided by the TEC distributor.
Q=Qmax of all TECs running in a single stage.(AKA, pumping ability)

(1-C/Q)Z=D

Don't forget the order of operations when you work with the equation.
