Ideal Temps?

What are the ideal temps for a dual Ath 1800 rig? Mine are currently between 38c and 44c, but normally stay about 42c... I think I never used any compound though.

Still can't get MBM to work right with this thing, but Tyan's System Monitor works OK all the time.

Ideal? No such thing, unless you count holding it spot on about -30.... well in my ideas.

your temps are plenty good enough, but check you have thermal compound, if not and you add some expect a BIG drop in temps

The colder the better, is my philosophy.

Your temps seem fine, Silverite!

Sounds good! Lemme see about some compound though... sure won't hurt to get some (unless I slip when re-applying those damned coolermaster heatsink+fans...)

I may have some compound lying around in a box here somewhere... If not, there may be a pack lying around at school, or one of the local comp shops may have a bit to spare. if I end up ordering any, what's the *best* compound for the money (I'm broke as a joke)?

Arctic silver 2 and 3 are proven and popular. If you look carefully, you should be able to get a tube for less than $8 shipped. It may take you a while to find it, though.

These come in internal designs that you can put in a 3 1/2" or 5 1/4" bay, as well as external! Encourage motherboard manufacturers to include this with their boards. It's a cheap PCB, folks. It shouldn't add more than $5 to the cost.
Please feel free to copy this and put it in your own sig.
