Please tell us what mainboard you're using for the Barton. Heat sink mounting and capacitor clearance might be important.

I HAVE AN ASUS A7N8X DELUXE MOTHERBOARD, CPU IS ALSO BARTON, ATHLON XP 3000,FSB 333, I USE A VOLCANO 11,XASER EDITION MADE BY THERMAL TAKE. THIS HEAT SINK AND FAN UNIT IS RATED UP TO XP 3400. IT KEEPS MY CPU VERY COOL. AND USE THERMAL GREASE ARTIC SILVER III, BETWEEN CPU AND HEAT SINK.:thumbsup:

If you can afford it, water cooling is the best way to go. IMHO ":O}
